Talk to my Brain!

I just read this article and really liked what it had to say. Yes I do have an adorable daughter and yes I tell her that constantly... but there is more to her than her beautiful face eyes smile.... granted if I ask her what her favorite book is she probably couldn't put a whole sentence together to tell me... but practice makes perfect. This doesn't just apply to little girls but all of us. Do I want to read this women's book now? Yes. Read then discuss.

Yes! I read this one not too long ago, and I have tried to follow the advice. Let me tell you how stinking hard it is! It's like I'm going against decades of programming...oh wait. I am.
You should get your paws on the book "NurtureShock" and read it. It's awesome. It has a whole chapter on the neurological consequences of the wrong (and right) types of compliments and encouragement.

Thank you for sharing this, so timely and so wise. I try so hard to compliment my girls not only on their appearance but on their brains and their behavior and a million other things. So important but definitely not first instinct.
