Goings on Lately

We Moved!  We got the townhouse we wanted after weeks of waiting and paper work insanity.  Seriously it was ridiculous.  I finally called corporate and magically the next day we were approved... only a week after we were supposed to already be moved in.  Oh well.  We are here!!!  Anne loves her new bed.  She talks about it all the time.  There is also a pool here and she talks about that all the time too.  First thing when she woke up today "I'm going to the hot water today Mom." meaning the hot tub.
Andrew starts Grad School next Monday!!!
We are in a Branch! In Utah... a Branch!  I haven't been in a branch since the Hamilton Branch in Missouri!  It's interesting... Andrew is convinced that the branch presidency has already singled him out for something because they know he was the executive secretary in our last ward.  Also, we go to church regularly which is a big deal around here.  Lots of inactives.
We have become expert dumpster divers.  We think someone in our little townhouse community waits every week til the dumpsters are empty and then just cleans out their garage... there is a lot of good stuff they are tossing out.  Andrew says he saw their garage... full of stuff.  So we have adopted a few lovlies/projects

Harry Potter closet carpet Andrew dug out of dumpster and cut to fit!

Hallway carpet runner long enough for our hall (Walmart
costs $80+) Any ideas how to finish the raw edges?
NO DUCK TAPE!

I shall paint you recover you love you and call you George!

$2.50!  To recover George!  Thanks Sandra for helping me find him some
new clothes.  The other yardage I had my eyes on was $18!

The New Sewing desk to be painted in coordinating colors
with the new George sewing chair.

This room will be the new home of George and his desk. If
could walk in and turn right there is a closet. We are going to
take the doors of and put them in the closet so Mom can sew
and kids can play!

Few!  So we still aren't totally unpacked because I've be a lazy suck for suck... We need to hang pictures and paintings and organize.  We shall be in our new home for 2 whole years so we better make it home quick.  Any who.  That is the update here.  Bye.

The Joys of Motherhood

So we take lots of walks in the evenings with the kids.  The weather is great and it tuckers Anne out just in time for bed.  On these walks Anne has decided to gather rocks for her rock collection that resides on our steps.  She used to just steal rocks from the neighbors but now they come from wherever she happens to find them on our walks.  She doesn't like to carry all the rocks home so she asks if she can put them in my back pockets for safe keeping. I oblige because she is cute.  Well, today I went to pull my phone out of my pocket and it was stuck.... yup one of Anne's special rocks from last night was extra special all ready been chewed gum.  It melted in my pocket and stuck to my phone.  GROSS!  Thank you Anne for making my day a little more exciting.

He is 1!

Okay, so this is late.  Dallas turned one April 8th!
Tiny little Dallas in the NICU.
I love this little cuddly browned eyed momma's boy.  I mean who wouldn't?  He just smiles at you and your heart is his.  Dallas, I love you.  You are my favorite little man.  You have shaved years off my life with late nights and early mornings... I have dealt with more snot than should be legal.  In return you cuddle all day long... and I don't mind that you don't share many cuddles with anyone else... I will take them all.

Digging into his birthday cake.

Getting excited about the birthday card Nana sent.
It's been a great year Dal.

entertainment system

Several times daily one of my little rascals does something that makes me laugh out loud.  Andrew says I don't have a sense of humor and don't laugh enough.... that's just because nothing is funnier than Anne's two year old humor.  Also, Dallas has a funny trick where he just eats everything... EVERYTHING.
For example:
Walking to the park there is a nice hill which is great therapy for Anne to climb up which means she hates it!  I asked her if she wanted to go up the hill and she said "No!  Hills dross!"

Anne playing with her air plane full of puzzle pieces Mom asks "Where are they going?" Response "To priesthood."

Anne is thinks she can parent Dallas too. "No buddy. Don't touch it.  Go to time out! It's mine."  Dallas wasn't even near her or looking at her toy.

I don't say oh my gosh ever.  Nothing against saying it or those who do but I just know Anne didn't get it from Andrew or me.  She says it all the time! "Oh my gosh its so big" "Oh my gosh Dallas" "Oh my gosh look!" All the time every day.  Its driving me crazy.  As much as I want to giggle cuz its cute and funny... something about that coming out of a two year old seems inappropriate... like she is cussing.  So I have tried to say just "Oh my" a lot to see if we can replace it.  I gently remind her not to say oh my gosh whenever she forgets.  I don't think its working.

Dallas and his culinary curiosity includes: Dirt clods, wood chips, crumbs, hair balls, tiny little rubber bands, leaves, rocks, flowers, acorns, Anne's left over coconut milk and olive oil bottles, the really spicy dinner we had last night, bath water, banana peels, pine cones.  The kid grosses me out.  I try and give him a binkie like a cork but it doesn't stop him.  Lets just hope he doesn't find the line of ants that showed up this week in the kitchen... or the chili powder I put down to get rid of them.

I love my kids.
