I really mean it... just lovely. There were two guests that night one being (try following me on this one) The man who did the singing part of Jethro in the Prince of Egypt. Wonderful voice. I am normally not a fan of someone who is to jazzy or changes good ole Christmas songs to much. However, I will make and exception. This man was spectacular. Also he sang the song form Prince of Egypt with the choir and Temple Square Orchestra and I had a myriad of emotions. At first I started giggling because I couldn't help but thing of cute little Wilson dancing like a nut in our family lip sync.
It made me so happy I began to cry. Andrew joined in on the giggling because he had seen the lip sync. The couple in front of us just starred at us for being so rude. Then I cried because I love Christmas I love Mormons and I love my family. It was just wonderful. The other guest introduced the song I heard the Bells. That is by far my most favorite Christmas song. I told the story of how Longfellow (I think that is who wrote it) came up with the lyrics and it was just beautiful. Again I cried. I don't know what it is about me being this stone cold emotionless rock... but good beautiful music just gets me. That is not the first time I have cried in front of others because music has touched me. I'm sure Andrew was glad to learn that I have emotions.
Then we went with Andrew's old pal and wife and to eat dinner and got home late late late driving through a nice little blizzard that didn't stick in Utah County at all... Just in SLC. We woke up o dark early to make it to Salt Lake again for a mission buddy of Andrew's temple sealing. It was lovely. The sweetest part is that both Mr and Mrs cried through the whole ceremony. Just so sweet. I don't remember crying but I'm pretty sure I had a big stupid grin on my face. I had never been in the Salt Lake Temple but it was lovely. Also snowing again in Salt Lake but not sticking back in Provo. The couple opted to take pictures at the reception rather than the temple in the cold cold snow. Andrew is a little displeased with missing out on all the snow fun that those up North are having.
That afternoon we had dinner with Uncle William and Aunt Charlene. Daniel and Rachel with boyfriend were there and we decorated gingerbread houses from these fun little kits. I think ours turned out smashing. Rachel and Jared (said boyfriend) decorated theirs pretty great. They started a lovely roof design and just pure cuteness then *gasp* their little reindeer's head broke off but that didn't stop them. The incorporated it into their house. The deer had a red gumdrop attached to either half of its body and then glued to the side of the house. Very funny. Then Rachel put a gingerbread man falling of the roof while trying to put up Christmas lights. It became very Christmas macabre very quickly.
Sunday, Andrew played piano while I sang in our Spanish caroling group. Surprisingly I did not faint. It was fun. Then I taught the relief society lesson which did almost make me faint... but I think it went went well. Here is a surprise for all... I am actually beginning to like Relief Society!!! I am also really excited to go visiting teaching this week. Wow... go figure. I guess when you serve you love.Sunday evening we had the opportunity to go see Andrew's family (Dad, Mom, Stacey, Matthew) perform in their Stake Christmas Program. Dad sang a lovely solo with Matthew accompanying. It was lovely and we got to spend time with family which I love. So That is all. A Wonderful weekend with wonderful family.
1. I really am blessed to have such a wonderful husband who loves me and respects me. I was speaking with a friend the other day about a divorce she had gone through recently and she told me it really all came down to that he didn't ever want a family and he also worked all the time and kept her "happy" with giving her allowance for buying things to keep her busy. I thought how horrible that would be to have all the money you needed but no husband or anything that really mattered. It made me really grateful for Andrew and the hard work he does but also all the attention he pays to me and that he is excited to start our little family.
2. He is so spontaneous and fun. He decided a week or two ago that we are going to learn Spanish... I didn't take him very seriously. I thought it was just some silly whim or fun idea. I did not expect him to follow through on it. Until he dragged me to a Spanish class that our ward is offering. Then I believed him. Now this Sunday we are doing a musical presentation in sacrament meeting where he will be playing the piano and I and a few others will be singing a Spanish Christmas carol. I have never sung in a musical presentation small group of people where I can be heard by others group nervous sweating fainting group of people singing in front of people..... I will be okay. I love my husband.
3. He calms me down when I get stressed and out of control. He can tell when I'm upset even when I'm not sure that I'm upset. He won't let me ignore him or my stress. He makes me talk. He helps me see that I'm not just being silly and that everything will be okay and I love him for that. The other day I was stressed about something at work and I just called him out of the blue to hear his voice... it automatically calmed me down. He said everything would be okay and I believed him. He is also willing to let it go when I have been silly... he doesn't hold it over my head or keep bothering me about my imperfections. If the house is messy he doesn't complain. Maybe he wants to... but he doesn't do it.
4. He isn't awkward around other people... when I am. He is very much a people person, even though he pretends not to be, and I am beginning to learn that I am not. I don't know when this happened or if it has always been true but I'm not a people person. I am very good at acting like one... but it is all lies. I would rather curl up in a ball under a nice warm blanket and watch a movie and never see day light again. Maybe that isn't true but Andrew is very personable and kind to others. He is always willing to make new friends and meet new people and invite someone over to dinner. I would rather hang out with the friends I already know and never meet anyone else. Also not true... but you get the point. Andrew is awesome.
5. He is willing to do what i want to do. Even if that is playing
6. He is a good righteous man. He loves going to the temple with me and I love that. He loves serving those in our ward. He does his home teaching. He knows more people in the ward than I do. He loves to have the missionaries over as often as possible. He reads scriptures and says prayers with me. He is good and I am so grateful for that. I have known my share of troubled lost men in this world who hurt those who love them with their poor choices and refusal to apply the atonement to their wounds and sins. Andrew is not that man. He served an honorable mission and he loves the gospel. That is such a comfort to me. I used to say that to him all the time when we were dating. I love that you are good... I still feel that way.
7. Lets be honest... look at him. He is just so handsome. I can't get enough of him. We were watching a movie last night and i just took a few minutes to just stare at him. I really can't get enough of this guy. This is long... anyway the point is ladies. Hold on to your wonderful husbands. They don't come cheap. It bothers me to hear other women complain about their husbands about the silly little things. Husband bashing sessions are terrible. Don't do it. That said I shouldn't bash other peoples husbands or anyone for that matter. I'm not perfect. Okay... getting off my soap box. I love my husband.

So we found a cool little Dutch store and went shopping. Andrew put together some Canoodles and Schnitzel and Roat Kolle (sorry for butchering the spelling Andrew). Canoodle is a funny word wich means something compleatly different to me than potatoe balls. They are kinda like a ball of mashed potatoes. Now Schnitzel I always pictured to be a yummy sweet treat of some kind... nope it is pork and it is delicious! The Roat Kolle is pickled purple cabbage and Andrew loves it. He asked if when we get food storage if roat kolle could be our main staple or a part of it. It was great! It was mostly fun just to see Andrew get really excited about Germany and German food and sharing it with us. We had Nate and Ashley with us and Ashley even ate some of the meat and didn't die. Mama Stradley's birthday is coming up this next week so Andrew will be cooking German food again and that will be loads of fun!
Also... lets look at this face. Creepy. Kinda looks like an old man in a weird dress. Could be a cross dresser... look at that wig! Hair net? I dunno... just creepy. I really don't know what Mary Kay make up does to you over the years... but I don't wanna look like that when I'm old. I'm more going for something like this
Flawless. Classic. Gorgeous.
